Your Next Career Move Starts Here! The Role: Manual QA Tester
Location: Hybrid Preferred (2 days/week onsite in Raleigh) Can be fully remote but must reside in the states and be available to work our core hours of 8am EST - 5pm EST.
Hours : 37.5-hour work week
Type: 12 month contract
What You'll Do: Our client is looking for is looking for three Manual QA Testers to support multiple delivery teams working on insurance policy applications. These roles will be responsible for validating business requirements, executing test cases, performing data validation, and ensuring quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Candidates with Workers Compensation, Property & Casualty, Life, Health, or other Insurance experience will be strongly preferred. Financial Services backgrounds may also translate well.
Responsibilities:
- Review user stories and acceptance criteria to develop test scenarios
- Create and execute manual test cases and test scripts
- Perform smoke, functional, regression, and integration testing
- Validate application data using SQL
- Identify, document, and retest defects through resolution
- Partner with developers, product owners, and business teams
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint activities
- Help ensure releases meet quality standards before production deployment
Required Qualifications: - 3-5 years of software QA testing experience
- Strong manual testing background
- Experience writing detailed test cases and test scripts
- Ability to interpret and test against acceptance criteria
- Understanding of:
- Smoke Testing
- Functional Testing
- Regression Testing
- End-to-End Testing
- User Acceptance support
- Ability to review a user story and create an effective testing approach
- Strong test prioritization skills
- Experience performing SQL queries for:
- Data validation
- Data verification
- Basic updates and troubleshooting
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in Agile environments
Preferred Qualifications :
- Insurance industry experience (strongly preferred)
- Experience supporting policy administration or insurance applications
- Financial Services experience
- Azure DevOps (ADO) exposure
- Prior automation testing experience (future automation opportunities exist)
